Communication Workshops

Kimberley’s Hearing Clinic offers Communication Strategy Workshops designed to help people with hearing loss to improve on their communication skills.  Workshop classes generally are a few hours long and students learn various strategies to learn to communicate more effectively in a variety of situations.

Most workshops also include speech reading instruction and students will practice facial expression and body language as they speak. Many vowels and consonants have distinct mouth shapes which can provide essential speech cues for those with hearing loss.

Workshops may also include coping strategies and educational topics such as the care and use of hearing aids, tips for more successful communication on the telephone, anatomy of the ear, and tips for coping in background noise.
